This site has been created to provide information about a number of issues related to the earthquake that occurred in the Chinese province of Sichuan on 12 May 2008 with the intention to support the reconstruction efforts undertaken by the Chinese Government.
The focus of this site is to facilitate the resources necessary to build safer low-cost housing, particularly traditional houses build by the dwellers themselves using mainly stones, timber, and mud. In addition, it will provide information on how to retrofit buildings in seismically prone regions and ways to identify potential landslides.
